To me what makes a song really good is beyond certain things we think matter in music today,
Such as if a person can sing or not, things such as pitch, tone and melodical perfection.

What makes a song great is all the little behind the scene images you get,
The little glimpses in a song that remind you it’s only a song.

The more grabbing things are the rhyme and measure, the heart beat of a song.
If you can capture that fundamental structural essence then you can make something sound good and strong,
Even with reoccurring riffs. It gives it enough of a mind of it’s own to be.

And even then you can still grasp that concept and have an untuned guitar and not be able to carry a tune in a bucket.

If that heart beat is there, that deep sense of driving rhyme, then you’ve got a pulse.

I guess that’s just my idea though, take it or leave it.

a song is a lot like poetry in movement.
